With just over an hour until the premiere of the ninth and final season of How I Met Your Mother let's quickly refresh ourselves and prepare for the beginning of the end... too soon I know.
Barney & Robin
- With their wedding weekend approaching the dynamic duo were finishing up last minute wedding things like rehearsing for their first dance. [I can't wait to see what song they choose]
- Their hopes of a romantic evening before heading to Farhampton is squashed by the couple from hell so in "Swarkles" fashion they decide to plot and scheme against the couple and pull a Mosby.
- While sharing a tender moment on the bench we hear Robin utter the words "I love you too Barney Scherbatsky" for the first time that wasn't "You're an idiot" or "The man I fell in love with." So umm yeah 911 I'm still dead from May.
- Barney and Robin are enthusiastically all packed and walk hand in hand to their car, and prepare to embark on their journey to Farhampton which we know dark clouds linger ahead.
- Marshall and Lily were packing tp leave for Rome after the wedding, where Lily was slated to start a job as an art consultant for the Captain.
- Marshall headed to Minnesota to let Judy spend time with Marvin.
- As we know from the flashbacks in 8x08 Marshall becomes a judge, well in 8x24 he gets the judgeship call and must now tell Lily they can't go to Rome.
- Meanwhile Lily stays in New York to help Ted deal with his complicated feelings towards Robin.
Teddy Westside
- Ted has just finished the renovations on his future home in West Chester and Lily is the first one to see
- He drops the bomb that he is moving to Chicago because he wants to start over and find the love of his life. (patience my dear Theodore, patience)
- Lily realizes that he is trying to get away because a part of Ted still clings to this idea of Robin being the one. But you know the pilot he called her "Aunt Robin" so you can kiss that goodbye my dear.
- Now before you feel instant anger about the point above, I do love Ted and Robin the early relationship and now the friendship okay, great moving on.
- Ted and Lily talk about the Central Park incident and the Locket and Ted realizes that he has the locket at home and wants to give to Robin.
- BE CAREFUL TED. We are all Lily Aldrin at this time.
- As Ted and Lily embark to Farhampton, Ted does not want to draw attention away from the wedding. And says he will leave early after the wedding and take the train back into the city.
