Happy Hump Day everybody, we are half way through the week and so close to the weekend. Last night's New Girl episode had Coach and Cece together on date, while Jess tried to keep Schmidt from thinking about the whole ordeal. Winston was prepared to go on his first date in a long time until Nick lost Ferguson. I thought the episode was really great because it showed the dynamics of the friendships we don't always get to see.
- No Not Ferguson: This cat is the cutest cat, it's like grumpy cat but cuter. I want to steal it from the show.. so if Ferguson never returns; I have him. Winston was prepared to get back in the game and asked Nick to look after his precious cat. Nick being Nick left the window open and Ferguson happened to escape. When Winston struck out with a bunch of women he decided he'd live alone with Ferguson for the rest of his life. Winston forces Nick to help him find him. A crazy lady obsessed with her pet hamster finds Ferguson and her and Winston get it on. It was a creepy situation all together. I was as uncomfortable as Nick was during the whole ordeal.
- Nick and Jess... Marriage Talk?: Well lack there of, when their date night plans kind of go to hell. Jess mentions that they can just have date nights when they're married. Which did not go unnoticed by Nick but instead of dismissing her and calling her insane like he might of back in season 1. He smiled and asked her what she just said and then they moved on. I don't think Nick himself has thought that far ahead but I don't think it's out of the question when they get to that point. What I love about this show is they didn't wait like 6 seasons to get the bickering friends to be together, they just got down to it, fairly quickly. I assume it won't be all happiness and a falling out of some sort will happen for good drama. But it's clear to assume they are endgame.
- Cece and Coach: I am feeling it but still conflicted. They are both on the rebound and I think need each other to get over Schmidt and Melika ((i think that's her name)). Do I think anything will come out it, probably not. Do I want anything to come out of it, not really because I still cling to the idea of Cece and Schmidt even though Schmidt is.... a Schmidt head. Coach was so cute he was extremely nervous and not smooth at all, this breakup really killed his game. He was really trying to hard to impress her and Cece wasn't having it. When she finally gets fed up Coach tells her the truth about how he was texting his mom all night Cece obviously forgives him. They get a little making out going on and inside I'm like yaaaay until Schmidt seems them and I'm like ouch. Seeing them together is probably almost the magnitude of pain Cece felt when she found out the truth about Schmidt.
- Jess and Schmidt: My favourite characters together finally. I know what you're thinking Schmidt really, you like Schmidt over Nick. Blame Max Greenfield you guys, plus Barney Stinson is my favourite on HIMYM, is Schmidt that far off from him... No. These two being together as friends is just everything to me. I loved Jess trying to distract him by singing and dancing and reading him passages from her yearbook. Jess tries so hard to make Schmidt feel good. They're friendship is so unique and platonic that the show needs more of it. Mostly because they are great and funny characters individually that together they bring out the comedy. Like when Schmidt asks Jess to hit him with her car. It was probably one of the funniest scenes in the series. Jess is in such a tight spot because she loves Cece and Schmidt, Cece obviously more but it's still hard. She's like the voice of reason telling Schmidt he has to let her go. Schmidt's face though when he sees Cece and Coach making out. I felt so bad but he does deserve it for what he did. Dammit Max Greenfield you and your face make me sympathize.
Quotes:
- "That's good for Cece, Coach is smoking hot.... wrong crowd I see that now." - Jess
- "It's good for Coach, it's good for Cece, it's good for America. Who knows we might even get a new Tiger Woods out of the deal." - Schmidt
- "We'll have date night when we're marri-der ba der ba der." "What did you just.." "Merry we're very merry Christmas." - Nick and Jess
- "She's on a flip-phone Jess, she's either poor or a time traveler." - Schmidt
- "Do you have anything that says 'I'm sorry I cheated you, please don't sleep with my friend.'? Of course you don't... ooh samples." - Schmidt
- "You freaking just hit me with your vehicle." - Schmidt
- "I hit him because I care about him." - Jess
One of the best episodes of the season in my opinion, probably because of the Jess and Schmidt dynamic and the return of Ferguson. This show continues to be a good and funny comedy and I'm loving it.
